Metronome Randomizer

The Metronome Randomizer mimics the attack "Metronome" in the Pokémon games, choosing a series of random attacks. This script offers three different flavors of metronome--"True Metronome," which adheres to the mechanics of the attack in the main-series games; "All Attacks," which picks any non-Z-move attack; and "All With Z-Moves," which may generate a Z-move, even though Z-moves aren't really the same as ordinary attacks and definitely can't be called by metronome. True Metronome will never select Counter, Mimic, Metronome, Mirror Move, Transform, Struggle, Sketch, Thief, Snore, Protect, Destiny Bond, Detect, Endure, Sleep Talk, Mirror Coat, Focus Punch, Follow Me, Nature Power, Helping Hand, Trick, Assist, Snatch, Covet, Feint, Me First, Copycat, Switcheroo, Chatter, Wide Guard, Rage Powder, After You, Quick Guard, Quash, Bestow, Techno Blast, Relic Song, Secret Sword, Freeze Shock, Ice Burn, Snarl, or V-create. If you are concerned with strict adherence to game mechanics, you should also take into account the fact that Metronome will also never pick any of the user's other three attacks, either, so you may need to re-randomize.
Because the mechanics of metronome haven't yet been extensively explored for Gen VII (and likely won't be for a while), the "True Metronome" setting currently chooses any attack that could be called in the fifth generation and any attack introduced in the sixth or seventh generation, since it's not currently known which of them are actually callable.

Also, I love this web page. I make completely randomized teams on Pokemon Showdown. It's pretty fun.

Incredible! I found this from Aron to Aggron Quest, and I must say it is incredible. I have no doubt that when I publish my fanfic I am working on I will use this a lot. I'll leave a mention of this site in it too!

Thanks for making this dude... this really helped with my "Randomizer" basically qr creating pokemon while using this to create random move sets. :D

Nice, I plan on doing a pokemon X randomizer, and i'll be randomizing tms with this. Thank you so much. P.S., i'm new here, so I just want to see if a Celebi appears when I do this

Hey, good luck with your run! You put in the code for the Celebi right, it's just that the name has to be lower-case to work properly. I'll probably fix the code up later to be case-insensitive; no reason it can't be, really.

Oh and if it matters, just did the 5th gym, and I only lost 1 pokemon through the entire thing (Parental Bond
died from fissure on the 3rd gym)

Nice! Sounds like it's going well. I'm always amazed when people breeze through the games in a few days... I don't think I've ever completed a Pokémon game in under a month.

No worries, moderating this site doesn't take a lot of time. I don't mind comments going a little off-topic as long as they're not outright spam, but if you wanted to just hang out and chat or whatever, that's more what the guestbook is for.

Well then, derp. Yeah, I was using it on my tablet, and I type "Celebi" too much, apparently it didn't want me to do "celebi" So, hope you don't mind me trying again.

Hi, very handy tool, this! Thanks for making it and keeping it public :) I use it for my Pokémon Tabletop United game. Could you perhaps add a generation option?

Thanks, glad you find it useful! I do hope to add more functionality soon--the ability to choose only moves from a particular generation, of a particular type, damaging vs nondamaging, etc.
